As we finish the calendar year, I want to thank you all for the remarkable work you have done this semester. With the holidays upon us and winter break about to begin, I encourage you to reflect on the things that bring you happiness and motivate you for the future.

I am pleased to share today the search committee for the university’s next executive vice president and provost. The committee of Ohio State faculty, staff and students will work closely with the search firm Education Executives to provide input and feedback, and coordinate campus listening sessions.

I am pleased to share that the Ohio State University Board of Trustees Talent, Compensation & Governance Committee has voted to appoint Karla Zadnik as interim executive vice president and provost, effective January 1, 2024. The full board will consider the decision on Thursday.
