Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to share we are launching a listening survey today to collect feedback from university faculty and staff.

I recognize there are significant activities taking place nationally and on campus that impact many of us. However, as I mentioned in the State of the University address, I am committed to collecting perspective from our employees to help shape our future strategy and goals. Part of that commitment is ensuring you have time to complete the survey prior to the summer.

Your opinions, as well as your vision for the university, are critical to our success. I hope you will participate and share what inspires you about our future, where our challenges are and how we can reach our full potential.

Everything I’ve learned from you during my first four months, and continue to learn from fellow Buckeyes, is helping me understand what makes Ohio State so unique. Where Ohio State goes next is not up to me. It’s up to us.

Faculty and staff at the Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine are surveyed annually, and they will not be included in this spring listening survey. Responses from their most recent annual survey will be combined with this new data to create a broad picture. A robust engagement survey for all faculty and staff will be initiated next year.

The university has partnered with Perceptyx, an independent third-party research firm, to deploy this listening survey. You will receive a direct email from Perceptyx later today with a unique link to complete the survey. Your responses will be confidential, and the survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. The survey will be open until May 17, and more information is available on the Office of Human Resources website.

Thank you in advance for offering your input and experiences through this survey. I look forward to reviewing our collective responses and sharing what I learn.

Ted
