I am writing to you to let you know that I have made the difficult decision to step down as president following commencement at the end of the academic year. I am very proud of all that we have accomplished together. It’s been a privilege to serve this incredible university, and I have been honored to work as part of this brilliant, dedicated and passionate community.

Ohio State’s Shared Values clearly and unequivocally establish our university community’s collective commitment to excellence and impact; diversity and innovation; inclusion and equity; care and compassion; and integrity and respect. There is no room for hate in our home. The university is where we work and live – and we will not tolerate violations of the values, principles and behaviors that constitute the Shared Values we agree to uphold when we become part of Ohio State.

With the holiday season approaching and the end of the semester nearly in sight, we have much to be thankful for at Ohio State. Our success in academics, research, operations, service, clinical care, and talent and culture continues to increase thanks to your passionate dedication and hard work.
