I am pleased to share today the search committee for the university’s next executive vice president and provost. The committee of Ohio State faculty, staff and students will work closely with the search firm Education Executives to provide input and feedback, and coordinate campus listening sessions.

I am pleased to share that the Ohio State University Board of Trustees Talent, Compensation & Governance Committee has voted to appoint Karla Zadnik as interim executive vice president and provost, effective January 1, 2024. The full board will consider the decision on Thursday.

I am writing to share news of two horrible acts that took place near our campus. In the last 24 hours we have had two incidents that directly targeted our Jewish community. I want to be direct and clear — the university has no tolerance for acts of hatred or violence.
