I am pleased to share that the Ohio State University Board of Trustees Talent, Compensation & Governance Committee has voted to appoint Karla Zadnik as interim executive vice president and provost, effective January 1, 2024. The full board will consider the decision on Thursday.

I am writing to share news of two horrible acts that took place near our campus. In the last 24 hours we have had two incidents that directly targeted our Jewish community. I want to be direct and clear — the university has no tolerance for acts of hatred or violence.

This is a profoundly difficult time for many on our campuses and throughout the world. The university is where we work and live, and Ohio State will not tolerate violations of the law or university policy. I want to remind us all of the elements of civility and respect inherent in our Shared Values. There is no room for hate on our campuses.
