The university has released today the findings of the Carter Investigation Report. You can also read the full report and associated records on the investigation’s dedicated webpage.

It is important for me and our leadership team to share this material with all of you so that we can all process the results together as a Buckeye community. The investigation was launched immediately following the resignation of Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. and focused on the circumstances around his resignation and the improper use of his position. It was conducted jointly by the Office of University Compliance and Integrity and the Department of Internal Audit, which are independent functions for the university reporting to the Board of Trustees’ Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

We are grateful for the careful and thorough work of these offices over these last several weeks.

Importantly, I want to acknowledge that transitions, particularly those of a sudden nature, can be difficult for many of us. Please know that our community and systems have held strong during this period and that your dedication to and passion for our academic mission remains more vital than ever.

As I shared last month, we will continue to lead at our campuses, medical center, research stations and more. Our focus remains on moving forward and accelerating the momentum we have demonstrated in critical areas of our academic mission.

Thank you once again for all that you do for Ohio State and each other.
