Columbus Business First — The day Ohio State University named Ted Carter its next president also was the first day of classes, including for some 10,000 freshmen and transfers. The more than $9 billion enterprise can't sit in "steady state" until Carter takes office on Jan. 1, after he finishes his term as president of the University of Nebraska, said Peter Mohler, acting president.
