A Message from President Drake: Strauss Investigation Update
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
The university announced in April an independent external investigation of sexual misconduct allegations against Dr. Richard Strauss, a former university-employed physician. As a reminder, Dr. Strauss was employed by Ohio State from the mid-1970s to the 1990s. He died in 2005.
I write today to provide you with additional information. Please see the below update.
It remains very important that anyone with information about incidents relating to Dr. Strauss and his time at Ohio State contact investigators at osu@perkinscoie.com.
As always, the safety of our university community is our top priority. The allegations brought forward in the past months stand in direct opposition to our values as Buckeyes — and to our society as a whole. I assure you that the university will continue to support this important investigation in every way we can.
Sincerely,
Michael V. Drake, MD
President
