Spring Semester Welcome

The following message was sent to all students, faculty and staff on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

Dear Buckeyes:

Welcome back! As we mark the beginning of a new year and the start of spring semester, it is important to remember just how special Ohio State is for so many people.

Buckeyes are committed to building a better tomorrow for ourselves, our communities and our world. This spring, we’ll have more opportunities to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together through several sesquicentennial events including a series of academic summits and a community open house planned with partners across the university.

Our proud tradition of uplifting communities continues today. Our students, including our most recent President’s Prize recipients and latest Rhodes Scholar, are working to improve the lives of individuals and families in need. Our faculty are driving an unprecedented level of research and creative expression across the enterprise. And we are engaging Buckeye Nation through Time and Change: The Ohio State Campaign to define the future of public land-grant universities.

Inclusive excellence is critical to our success. As we enter this new year, let us renew our commitment to appreciation and respect for individual ideas and perspectives. We derive great strength from bringing together and learning from outstanding Buckeyes from a variety of backgrounds. We need the contributions of all members of our community to advance our historic momentum into the next 150 years and beyond.

Buckeyes have set the standard for excellence and impact in higher education. Together, we will continue building brighter futures one day, one degree and one discovery at a time.

Have a safe, healthy and productive semester. Go Bucks!
