A message of gratitude

The following message was sent to all Ohio State students, faculty and staff on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Dear Buckeyes,

As the autumn semester ends, I have been reflecting on how thankful I am to be part of such a special University community. I write this email to say thank you. We were able to come back to campus and back to traditions this fall because of you — people who support each other. As I mentioned in my investiture speech last week, our students, faculty and staff are the resilient and brilliant drivers of excellence at Ohio State. All of you — and the many alumni and friends of the University who offer their time and support — are incredible people, and I am so grateful to be part of this outstanding institution. Please know how much I appreciate you.

This is the time of year when we pause to think about all that we have and the loved ones who surround us. While on this break, I encourage you to express gratitude, celebrate the blessings in your lives and take time to recharge and refresh by focusing on your own well-being. Please remember that Ohio State offers many resources available for students and faculty and staff to help you through the holiday season, or any other time.

Veronica and I wish you all a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely yours,

Kristina M. Johnson, PhD
