Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

Last fall, we reached out for your engagement and collaboration in the university's strategic planning process. Over the past year, we have worked with colleges, departments, programs and our Wexner Medical Center and received input from the broader community, including alumni, friends and community leaders. Overall, we met with more than 500 campus leaders and received nearly 1,000 online responses, suggestions and ideas from faculty, staff and students.

This afternoon, the Board of Trustees endorsed Ohio State's strategic plan, titled Time and Change. The plan builds on our existing strengths by setting forth five pillars of broad focus:

  • Teaching and Learning
  • Access, Affordability and Excellence
  • Research and Creative Expression
  • Academic Health Care
  • Operational Excellence and Resource Stewardship

Further details on the plan and each pillar can be found on the Time and Change website. Translating strategy into execution will be the work of all Buckeyes, requiring an unwavering commitment to our aspirations as well as ongoing collaboration across the university community and with our many stakeholders.

The university's momentum has never been greater, and I look forward to working together to take the next bold leap into our future.

Sincerely,

Michael V. Drake, MD

President
