The following message was sent to all students, faculty and staff on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
I write to share with you today that Susan Basso, Senior Vice President, Talent, Culture and Human Resources, has decided to step down from her position.
Susan was recruited to join The Ohio State University in September 2017 and has provided strong leadership over the university’s entire human resources operations, including the Wexner Medical Center. As a respected leader she has managed a team that is focused on supporting the university’s most valued asset, its people. Susan has been instrumental in the strategic redesign of Human Resources to include policies, processes, and modernized technology to support the workforce of the future. Her contributions to and leadership on national HR professional organizations have been significant. She is highly regarded nationally and has been involved in a number of professional and volunteer organizations. At this time, Susan is interested in taking some time to reflect on a 30 year career and where her talents can best be utilized.
Please join me in expressing the university’s appreciation to Susan for her service and wishing her continued success in the future.
We will be launching a national search for the next Senior Vice President of Talent, Culture and Human Resources. Until that time, I have asked Paul Patton, Senior Advisor to the President, to serve as interim leader of Talent, Culture and Human Resources.
