The following message was sent to all students, faculty and staff on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
The Ohio State University is unique among our peers in higher education because of our size, breadth and standard of excellence. But what really sets us apart — today and every day throughout our 150-year history — is our people.
Each day, Buckeyes across the state and around the world make a real difference in ways large and small. Whether you are pioneering the next breakthrough, caring for patients at our medical center, preparing for your future career or working to keep our campuses safe, you are an essential part of our inclusive university family. No matter your contribution, you are critical to our ability to improve lives and elevate society.
If you will be near our Columbus campus during next week’s holiday, I invite you to join me — and 1,600 of our Buckeye friends and family members — for our annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 28, at the Ohio Union. Two seating times are available: 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Tickets are free and can be picked up at 140 Enarson Classroom Building, the Hale Black Cultural Center and the Ohio Union Information Center.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of our extraordinary university. Brenda and I wish you a safe, happy and meaningful Thanksgiving!
Michael V. Drake, MD
